Hello, I am Gwen Lattuca. I am fed up with the health care system as it is! I was very ill and the medical community had no help for me. After years of research I have found my way to leading a healthy life and hope to share it with the people that visit my site.  I have put up a lot of information that I have found and hope that it will help others. I do sell products on this site but only products that I actually use and feel confident in recommending to the public. I also offer recipes, games, free e-cards and information. I am not a trained doctor, dietician, or herbalist. I am how ever a survivor and hope that the products and information that I offer will indeed help others.

 The real inspiration for this site was when I was exposed to a toxic poison called Dursban several years ago. When I was exposed to this poison I went to many doctors and was tested for everything from lime disease to MS. The doctors finally came up with chronic fatigue syndrome and depression. They put me on Paxil (not a good idea for me)!! 

I called the doctor and told him I would have to quit taking the drug as it was worse than the problem I already had. He agreed! 

One night while working in my ceramic shop I was watching a news broadcast. They had a show on Dursban and the effects of this poison. I had been given a bottle of industrial strength Dursban (you know the kind that your suppose to wear a hasmat suit with) by a local exterminator.  I had been using it as instructed in my shop for about 6 months (and thought it was safe as a professional had given it to me). The next day I took it in to the doctor and asked if this could possibly be my problem??

The doctor agreed that it was indeed the problem but.... there was really no medical treatment. I was told that I would have to just live through the problem and that at this point I did indeed have a compromised immune system. I was also told that this poison stayed in your system and there were no real studies that could tell me how long or what the long term effects were. Symptoms of this condition were: Migraine head aches, pain in muscles, fatigue, hormone imbalance,  light headedness, memory loss, and other annoying symptoms too numerous to list. 

I had quit using the Dursban  before I saw the news show - but I still had the bottle (it was sitting on the TV). If I had thrown the bottle out I would have never known. 

I was so sick I had to close my ceramic shop and sold the contents to help pay for doctors bills. Being self employed I had no health insurance and now had a pre-existing condition. 

I started going to the library and using the internet to do research and found a lot of information on poison exposure.  I did not have the money for doctors and there was no help from the legal community. I was completely on my own.

The first thing that I tried was health food and exercise. Then I started vitamin supplements, detoxifying herbs and lots of spring water. Results were not overwhelming but subtle and constant.

After six months I was starting to show signs of real recovery. I hope that I can help others by sharing all of the wonderful things I have found on my journey to better health. I will never be the healthy person that I once was - but the knowledge that I have gained is helping me to be a productive part of society and I am able to help support my family. 

I can not work a regular job as I still have some left over symptoms.  I am able to run this site and hope that by offering products that have helped me to the public and giving great service and low prices that I can continue to be a useful person. 

I have never tried to take legal recourse against the Dow Chemical company because I thought with my limited resources it would be useless to go against a giant like that.  I can tell what happened with out a court gag order hanging over my head.

I also never tried to sue the professional exterminator as he had gone out of business and about 5 months after I found the problem his second born child died of SIDS (this has been a controversial diagnosis between him and his wife. They are now separated).
