Mix white sugar, brown sugar, butter, egg and vanilla extract (only use real vanilla extract) in mixer on low and then medium. Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl and mix a couple of times with a whisk. Add dry ingredients to mixing bowl and mix on low and then on medium. Remove bowl and fold in chocolate chips and nuts. Using a teaspoon scoop out small balls onto lined baking pan (I suggest parchment paper). Bake at 350 degrees for 7 to 10 minutes - Cool and eat. will keep nicely for up to a week in a cookie jar or tin.
